Mark has never been frightened of bringing new ideas, new sounds, and incredible orchestrations and arrangements to each project he composes and produces. From an epic Pirates Voyage fight scene, to a hip-hop take on a new Six Flags contemporary show score, to a Celtic tinged chamber orchestra setting for his “Letters From Ireland” choral cantata. Mark doesn’t just compose, he creates environments and settings with his musical palette.

Mark has studied the craft of both lyric and melodic writing with some of the top pop songwriters and teachers in Los Angeles, New York and Nashville all leading him to become a master song stylist, understanding song structures, production styles, and period trends that were popular in songwriting for the last 100 years. But all this goes out the window when he sits down to write a song for his next project. Instead he starts with a feeling, an emotion, a cool groove, or a killer title, and begins writing the song that’s perfect for the musical, show or artist for which it’s intended.

FUN FACTS
- Mark comes from a family of Coffee drinkers. Look for him the next time your in Starbucks.
- Mark studied both Classical and Jazz Piano in High School, but never let his Classical teacher know about the “jazz thing”.
- Mark mother’s was a Speech and Drama teacher who directed all the plays and musicals at the local High School. Mark and his sister spent every afternoon at play rehearsal growing up, which sparked Mark’s love of the theatre.
- Mark grew up with small dogs, but has had only large dogs, (Golden Retrievers) as an adult.
